About UsA short explanation of who we are and how we got here. Publicartist was created in order to solve a problem plaguing public art. Ansen Seale is a San Antonio based photographer and has earned a living not only through his fine art and public art endeavors but also by photographing artwork for his peers and contemporaries. It is common for artists to contact Seale Studios in order to get appropriate images together in order to apply for various projects and commissions. Eventually, we started cataloging our client's documents as well as their images, and further assisted them in completing all kinds of applications. Along the way, we saw a lot of problems with the application process, specifically; vague or contradictory image requirements, unnecessarily complex submission requirements; repetitive entry systems, and buggy software. In addition to photography, Seale Studios also specializes in web development. Over the years we have been asked by various organizations to create websites to manage their application processes. It was our experience, that although an administrator would know exactly what they expected in an application, they didn't really know how to ask for it in a way that made sense to the artists, their applicants. Since we have an extensive background in digital media and the arts, we are able to help administrators more effectively collect useful, meaningful applications. All of these experiences has resulted in giving us very specialized knowledge of two sides of public art, that of the artists, and of the administrators.
