Call Summary
San Antonio’s multi-arts festival is scheduling programming from November 9th-13th, with the epic night festival on Friday, November 11, 2016. Luminaria invites you, your gallery, your collective, or other creative organization to submit work for this highly competitive showcase. Submit an artistic proposal by May 5th to be part of this edgy celebration of contemporary arts in downtown San Antonio, Texas.

Project Proposals will be evaluated on their overall professionalism, creativity, originality, and innovation. There is only one application form to submit, whether your work is visual, performance, literary, musical, environmental, fashion, comedy, film, dance or a combination of artistic genres. Cross-discipline works are encouraged. All artists are required to be present at the festival and open to interacting with the public.

All works must be created specifically for Luminaria, unless Luminaria is also its Texas or US premiere. Art work sales are not permitted at the festival.

All proposals must be submitted via this online application process.

Budget Description
Luminaria believes in fair compensation, but as a nonprofit organization we understand selected projects may need to seek additional funds. In the past, typical Luminaria honorariums have ranged from $250 to $3,000 depending on the scope of work. Luminaria may designate a few projects for full funding as a commissioned work.

Other partners include the IDEA Carver School (exterior only), the recently renovated historic pedestrian Hays Street Bridge, and the neighborhood parks of Dignowity and Lockwood. Luminaria expects more locations within the footprint to be confirmed soon.

Luminaria appreciates specific location requests, but will make final placement decisions within the footprint.
