Odessa Arts, in conjunction with the City of Odessa invites professional artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to design and fabricate a significant piece for the new animal control facility. This piece will be funded through the City’s Percent for Art ordinance and become an addition to the City of Odessa’s public art collection.
The budget is derived from the CIty’s percent for art ordinance and covers all project related costs including (but not limited to): project design, labor, fabrication, project management, materials, tools, subcontracted services, lighting, travel to complete the artwork, shipping, delivery of artwork to site, and installation. Any expense that exceeds the contracted amount will be the artist’s responsibility.
In July 2021, the City of Odessa broke ground on a new, state of the art animal control facility to replace the current aging facility. The new facility will focus on animal well being, and encouraging the community to adopt.
